The Shawano Police Department handled a total of 34 reported incidents during Monday’s activity period, including a report of a bear walking toward Franklin Park early in the morning.

Officers also responded to a welfare check at the Shawano Kwik Trip, where a woman was found slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle.

Later in the morning, police assisted with a medical emergency involving a 15-year-old girl who was reportedly having seizures at Charlie’s County Market.

Officers also investigated a suspicious person report at Sturgeon Park after several people reported seeing a man matching the same description.

Police responded to a reckless driving complaint on South Main Street involving a gray van that was reportedly swerving and nearly leaving the roadway.

Other calls included a found wallet at Memorial Park, a report of damage to a handicap parking sign, several traffic stops, and multiple welfare checks.

The department also responded to a report of a loose dog, a property damage complaint, and a traffic hazard involving construction equipment near Airport Drive.

Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls Monday, including a disorderly conduct complaint on South Main Street and a 911 call from Industrial Avenue.

Officers also investigated a report of possible animal neglect on South Main Street, followed later in the day by an animal bite complaint on McKinley Avenue.

A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of South Main and West Madison streets. Police also handled several traffic-related calls, including a traffic hazard on South Main Street and a traffic stop at North 12th Street and West Green Tree Road.

Officers conducted business and extra patrol checks throughout the city, along with a foot patrol on Harriet Street.

Police also responded to a welfare check on Sixth Street and made a warrant-related contact on Memorial Circle.

In all, Clintonville Police logged 16 calls for service during the day Monday

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department handled a busy day of calls Monday, with traffic incidents, property complaints, and several emergency calls among the activity.

Deputies investigated criminal damage complaints in Tigerton, where a rock was reportedly thrown through a window at Legion Park, and in Gresham, where vandalism was reported at a business.

A theft was also reported in the Shawano area after a work tablet and work phone were taken from an unlocked truck.

Deputies responded to several reckless driving complaints, including one on Highway 29 and County Highway U, and another near Pulaski where a caller reported a motorcycle traveling at extremely high speeds.

There was also a crash on Highway 29 near Campground Road. The vehicle reportedly struck a rumble strip and went into the median. No injuries were reported.

Other calls included a grass fire near a telephone pole, several welfare checks, a disabled vehicle near Clintonville, and multiple 911 calls.
