NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Families in Marion and Pulaski have the chance to connect with local first responders tonight as both communities host National Night Out celebrations.
The annual event is designed to strengthen relationships between residents and public safety agencies while promoting safer neighborhoods through community engagement.
In Marion, Family Night Out begins at 5 p.m. at Lions Point with bingo, family games, food, a duck race, a magic show, police, fire and EMS demonstrations, a veterans ceremony and fireworks at dusk.
Marion Police Chief Kevin Schultz says the evening is about more than just fun and entertainment.
“It’s an opportunity to build trust outside of emergency situations,” Schultz said.
Meanwhile, Pulaski’s National Night Out takes place tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park and features free food, music, bounce houses, cornhole, yard games and opportunities to meet local police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
Pulaski School Resource Officer Josh Nickodem says organizers have planned something for the entire family.
“The Fire Department will be present, and we also have Eagle 3 scheduled to respond between 4:40 p.m. and 5:10 p.m.,” Nickodem said.
The Eagle 3 helicopter is expected to be one of the featured attractions, giving attendees an up-close look at the region’s emergency medical aircraft.
Organizers in both Marion and Pulaski encourage residents to come out tonight, enjoy the free activities, and spend time getting to know the police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel who serve their communities.
