Clintonville Police stayed busy on Thursday, responding to a variety of calls throughout the city. Officers conducted extra patrols in the Memorial Circle and Spring Street areas, along with business checks and traffic enforcement, including radar patrols on South Main Street and a traffic stop at Main and Second Streets.
Emergency crews responded to an ambulance call on North Clinton Avenue, while police also assisted another agency on South Clinton Avenue and later at North Grand Avenue and West Main Street.
Officers handled reports of a stray animal on South Main Street, two separate theft complaints on West Madison Street and South Main Street, and responded to a fire call on North 12th Street. The day’s activity also included a traffic complaint near South Main Street and Reinke Road, a harassment report on North Main Street, and a suspicious activity complaint on South Main Street before officers wrapped up the evening with additional patrols around Memorial Circle.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of calls Thursday, including traffic complaints, crashes, emergency calls, and public safety incidents across the county.
The day began with deputies removing a pedestrian crossing sign that had been struck and left in the roadway near South Church and South Cecil Streets in Bonduel, creating a traffic hazard. Deputies also assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in Birnamwood and conducted several traffic stops throughout the day.
Authorities arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant in the Pulaski area Thursday morning. Deputies also responded to multiple 911 calls from locations in the towns of Richmond, Caroline, Washington, and Clintonville. Most of those incidents were resolved without major problems.
Drivers also kept deputies busy. Reports of reckless driving came in along Highway 45 near Marsh Road and twice on Highway 29. Two property-damage crashes were reported, one near Highway 29 and South Cecil Street in Bonduel and another at the Kwik Trip along West Express Way.
Other calls included a reported scam attempt involving a business in Pulaski, a noise complaint in Pulcifer, barking dogs in the Gillett area, and a welfare check Thursday night after a person was reported slumped over on a moped in a parking lot.
Shawano Police stayed busy throughout Thursday with a wide range of calls across the city. Officers handled numerous traffic stops during the day, issuing several verbal warnings along with at least one speeding citation after clocking a vehicle traveling 52 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone.
Emergency crews also responded to Hillcrest Primary School after a fire alarm was activated. Authorities determined it was an alarm call, and the scene was cleared without incident.
Police investigated a welfare check, a disturbance at a local restaurant, a reported scam, suspicious activity at a hotel, and a reckless driving complaint. Officers also assisted with a vehicle lockout, found property, and helped resolve a complaint involving an abandoned dog.
Late Thursday night and into early Friday morning, officers responded to fireworks complaints, a juvenile runaway report, a curfew violation, a domestic disturbance, and several medical assistance calls.
