Wittenberg-Birnamwood is projected to finish fourth in the Central Wisconsin Conference this fall, according to Bound Wisconsin’s 2026 preseason football conference preview.
The Chargers are coming off a 4-5 regular season in 2025 but finished on a high note by earning a Level 1 playoff victory over Brookfield Academy before falling to Lake Country Lutheran in the second round.
Head coach Jason Rieck believes this year’s team will have a chance to build on that postseason success despite replacing several key contributors from last season.
The Chargers graduated a senior-heavy offensive line and will rely on younger players to step into larger roles this season.
Quarterback Bo Davis, who started last season, is expected to remain one of the team’s key returning playmakers, although Bound Wisconsin noted he could see a different role this fall as the Chargers reshape their offense.
