MENOMINEE COUNTY, WI – Drivers heading to the Menominee Nation Contest Powwow next weekend should plan for a temporary traffic pattern around the fairgrounds.
From July 31 through August 2, the intersection of Highway 47/55 and Fairgrounds Road will be closed to vehicle traffic. Powwow visitors will be detoured west on County Road VV, then onto Kittecon Road before reaching Fairgrounds Road.
Officials say the new route is designed to reduce congestion on the highway while maintaining access for residents who live along Fairgrounds Road. Traffic control signs will be posted throughout the area to help guide motorists safely to the event.
