NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Motorists across Menominee, Shawano and Waupaca counties should expect delays as several major state highway projects continue.
In Menominee County, construction remains underway on WIS 47 between WIS 55 and the Langlade County line. Crews are replacing culverts, installing guardrail and curb and gutter, and preparing the highway for new pavement.
WIS 47 remains closed to through traffic, with drivers being detoured along US 45 and WIS 29. Local residents and emergency vehicles will continue to have access during the closure, which is expected to remain in place through mid-August.
Several projects are also affecting travel in Shawano County. Lane closures remain in place on WIS 29 between County J and Highline Road as crews continue pavement repairs and other improvements.
Additional ramp closures are scheduled near County K, WIS 47 and WIS 117. On WIS 22, crews are milling pavement and are scheduled to begin paving July 27 between County R and Pulcifer.
Drivers on WIS 22 should expect single-lane closures, flagging operations and a pilot car directing traffic through the work zone.
In Waupaca County, construction continues on US 45, WIS 54 and US 10. In New London, crews are installing storm sewer as part of the US 45 and WIS 54 reconstruction project.
Part of the WIS 54 and County D, or North Shawano Street, intersection remains closed. Portions of US 45 have also been reduced to one lane in each direction.
Work continues on US 10 between Anderson Road and Appletree Lane, where motorists will encounter lane and shoulder closures.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, watch for changing traffic patterns and slow down when traveling through construction zones.
