OSHKOSH, WI – Area standouts made their mark during the 2026 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) All-Star Games at Titan Stadium, where the South captured two of the three contests while helping raise more than $380,000 for Children’s Wisconsin.
Lena’s Max Peterson sparks 8-player comeback
Lena’s Max Peterson helped fuel one of the weekend’s biggest rallies as the South erased a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the North 22-18 in the 8-player all-star game.
After trailing 18-6 entering the final quarter, Peterson punched in a one-yard touchdown to cap a lengthy drive and cut the deficit to 18-14 after a successful conversion. Moments later, the South capitalized on a North fumble, with quarterback Logan Schuh scoring the go-ahead touchdown on another one-yard run. A second successful conversion gave the South a 22-18 advantage.
The South defense made the lead stand, forcing two late stops to complete the comeback.
Peterson’s touchdown proved to be the turning point in the victory, while Schuh accounted for two touchdowns with one passing and one rushing. North Crawford’s Cullen Jacobus led the South defense with 15 tackles.
The North controlled much of the game behind 300 rushing yards, including 129 yards from Flambeau’s Cole Schley and 116 yards from McDonell Central’s Dawson Moulton.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Yaeger opens scoring in North rout
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Kaden Yaeger wasted little time making an impact in the Small Schools All-Star Game.
Yaeger hauled in a 30-yard touchdown pass from Boyceville quarterback Carson Roemhild on the opening drive, setting the tone for the North’s dominant 41-0 victory over the South.
The North defense controlled the game from start to finish, limiting the South to just 55 total yards while forcing turnovers that led to 21 points.
Roemhild completed 7 of 8 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns, while Logan Prall caught two touchdown passes. Connor Kilgore added a defensive score with a 35-yard interception return just before halftime to push the lead to 27-0.
West De Pere’s Lutz, Kaukauna’s Weyenberg contribute in large school finale
West De Pere’s Ryan Lutz and Kaukauna’s Kavanaugh Weyenberg helped the North build an early lead in the Large Schools All-Star Game before the South rallied for a 24-17 victory.
Lutz scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, extending the North’s advantage after a long touchdown pass from River Falls quarterback Tino Massa to Rice Lake’s Will Svendsen.
Later in the quarter, Weyenberg connected on a 26-yard field goal to give the North a 17-7 lead heading into halftime.
The South responded with 17 unanswered points, beginning with a late first-half field goal before tying the game on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Joey Passaglia to Jackson BeBow in the third quarter.
Vidal Spivey’s 24-yard touchdown run with four seconds remaining in the third quarter proved to be the game winner.
The North had one final opportunity in the closing minutes but came up short after a promising drive was derailed by penalties, allowing the South to hold on and complete the comeback.
The South finished the weekend by winning both the 8-player and Large Schools all-star games, while the North claimed the Small Schools contest.
