Edmund "Eddie" Beil

Edmund “Eddie” Beil, age 84, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Meadow View Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bonduel.  Eddie was born June 2, 1942, in Clintonville, Wisconsin, to Edmund A. and Leona (Winter) Beil. Eddie lost his dad at an early age, and he and his mom lived in the Clintonville area and were very close to his uncle Arnold Winter, who served as a surrogate father, for him growing up. He was a graduate of Clintonville High School. Upon graduation he started working at Marion Building and Supply and later went to work at Vertack. Vertack was later bought out by Torbergs and he worked there until his retirement.   On April 24, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Sharon Westfahl at St. Paul Stony Hill, Shawano. Eddie became a member of Stony Hill and served as a church elder and usher for many years.  In April of 1987, his wife Sharon had a serious accident which resulted in a traumatic brain injury which would change both of their lives forever. For over 20 years Eddie stood by her side and was always there for her. Those close to him considered him a Saint for having taken such wonderful care of Sharon. When Sharon was alive, they enjoyed traveling the United States, going to the Shawano flea market, area parades, listening and going to Polka dances, listening to music at Memorial Park, attending local fairs and going for car rides. Eddie was also very talented when it came to creating things. He not only made useful things out of wood but also metal. Eddie was a wonderful brother-in-law and uncle who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Kathryn Westfahl of Clintonville, Eileen (Fred) Tesch of Menasha; his niece, Katie Westfahl of Green Bay; nephews, Brian (Merissa Krueger) Westfahl of Clintonville, Matthew (Jamie Sawicki) Tesch of Menasha, Tony (Sandy) Tesch of Kiel; and other family and special friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Beil; parents; his uncle; father and mother-in-law, James and Lerie Eve Westfahl; brother-in-law, Stanley Westfahl; and his nephew/godson, Bradley Westfahl.

A funeral service for Edmund Beil will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stony Hill. Reverend Colin Moon will officiate.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery following the service. Visitation will begin at the church on Tuesday at 9:30 am and continue until the time of service.
