Highway Maintenance and Road Construction Continue Across Northeast Wisconsin

NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Drivers throughout Northeast Wisconsin should prepare for lane closures, detours, and changing traffic patterns this week as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation continues maintenance and construction projects in Brown, Outagamie, Menominee, and Shawano counties.

Brown and Outagamie Counties

In Brown County, maintenance crews are repairing pavement on southbound Interstate 43 at Highway 96 today. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures while the work is underway.

Overnight deck sealing will also continue throughout the week on Highway 172 over the Fox River, with lane closures in effect during evening and overnight hours.

In Outagamie County, pavement repairs are scheduled for Thursday evening on Interstate 41 between Highway 125 and the south county line. WisDOT says a moving lane closure will be used during the project to reduce traffic disruptions while crews complete the repairs.

Menominee County

Construction also continues on Highway 47 in Menominee County, where the roadway remains closed to through traffic between County VV and the Langlade County line.

The project includes culvert replacements, guardrail installation, and other roadway improvements. Through traffic is being detoured via U.S. Highway 45 and Highway 29, while local and emergency access will continue to be maintained.

The closure is expected to remain in place through mid-August.

Shawano County

Several construction projects remain active throughout Shawano County this week.

Along Highway 29, the eastbound Highway 22 ramps will be closed today and Tuesday. Beginning Wednesday, the County K/Highway 47 North ramps will close through July 24 as paving work continues.

Crews are also performing concrete repairs along Highway 29, resurfacing portions of Highway 22, and completing paving work on Highway 156.

In addition, the Highway 117 Park and Ride is closed today through Thursday while repairs are completed.
