SHAWANO, WI – The nationally recognized Kids From Wisconsin will take the stage at Franklin Park tonight, bringing a two-hour Broadway-style production featuring some of Wisconsin’s most talented young performers.
Stage Band Director Alex Knoepker says this year’s show combines music, dance, and live entertainment designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
“We perform a two-hour, what we like to call a Broadway or Vegas-style review show where we’re performing several different genres and styles,” Knoepker said. “There’s something for everyone.”
The Kids From Wisconsin troupe is made up of 36 performers between the ages of 15 and 20, including 22 singer-dancers and a 14-piece live stage band. Each year, members are selected through auditions held around the state, bringing together talented young musicians and performers from communities across Wisconsin.
Among this year’s cast is New London native Jonah Stone, a graduate of New London High School and current Princeton University student. Stone is spending his second summer touring with the organization after discovering Kids From Wisconsin through his hometown’s longtime connection to the program.

Stone says the support from the New London community has played a major role in his experience.
“The Lions Club is always supporting me and they kind of run the whole thing and they kind of host the Kids From Wisconsin show,” Stone said. “It really is a whole community effort.”
Following tonight’s performance, Stone will have the opportunity to perform in front of a hometown crowd when Kids From Wisconsin visits New London High School on Wednesday, July 8, at 7 p.m.
“I’m super excited to show my friends and family what I’ve been working on,” Stone said. “I’m excited to reconnect with my old teachers, friends, and the community.”
Stone also encouraged young performers to pursue opportunities even if they feel nervous.
“Don’t be afraid,” he said. “If you are afraid, it’s okay to do it scared. People are going to judge you no matter what, so you might as well do what makes you happy and do it to the best of your abilities.”
The Kids From Wisconsin tour travels throughout the state each summer, showcasing exceptional young talent while inspiring future performers through professional-caliber entertainment and educational outreach.
