GILLETT, WI – Organizers of Gillett’s annual Fourth of July celebration say ongoing Highway 22 construction won’t stop residents and visitors from enjoying a full weekend of festivities at Zippel Park.
J.T. Crocker of the Gillett Civic Club is encouraging attendees to use an alternate route to avoid the construction zone.
“Probably the best way to go would be to take County Highway BB to the north and get right onto East Main Street, take that down to Lake Street and go right to the park from there,” Crocker said.
He says the Civic Club is available to answer questions about parking and access, helping ensure everyone can safely reach the celebration throughout the holiday weekend.
The festivities begin Friday with food vendors, entertainment, and the annual truck pull. From 4 to 7 p.m., visitors can also enjoy a lawn chair concert before the evening’s live entertainment.
“We have a pretty good lineup on the 3rd of July from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. We have a lawn chair concert,” Crocker said.
The band Petty Cash will headline Friday night’s entertainment, performing through 11 p.m.
The celebration continues Saturday with a full day of Fourth of July activities, including the annual parade, family-friendly events, and fireworks.
