Shawano Police stayed busy Monday, responding to a variety of calls across the city.
Officers handled several medical calls throughout the day, assisted with welfare checks, and investigated reports of harassment and threatening behavior at separate locations. Police also worked with Probation and Parole officers to take a subject into custody on a confirmed warrant.
Traffic enforcement remained active, with multiple traffic stops conducted and officers responding to a report of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on West Green Bay Street. A non-reportable traffic crash was also investigated.
Among the community service calls, officers helped a motorist locked out of a vehicle, responded to a report of a dog left inside a parked vehicle outside a business on East Green Bay Street, and took a report of a lost wallet containing cash and personal cards.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout Monday with a wide range of calls for service across the city.
Officers began the overnight hours conducting several business checks along South Main Street, followed by an open door investigation on 10th Street and a downtown foot patrol to help keep the area secure.
During the day, police responded to a 911 call, a hit-and-run crash on South Main Street, welfare checks on Hughes and Wilson streets, an animal complaint on Robert Street, and a disorderly incident on Stewart Street. Officers also assisted another agency, investigated ordinance violations, and remained visible through extra patrols in several neighborhoods.
The evening brought additional traffic enforcement, a disabled vehicle along Highway 22, a reported theft on Sunset Drive, and a suspicious activity call on Wilson Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 48 incidents across the county Monday, keeping deputies busy with a wide variety of calls.
The day included numerous 911 calls, welfare checks, and reports of criminal damage, with deputies investigating vandalism to a cemetery headstone near Bowler and graffiti reported in the Wittenberg area. Deputies also responded to reports of trespassing in both the Birnamwood and Shawano areas, along with a restraining order violation complaint near Pulaski.
Traffic safety remained a priority as deputies investigated reckless driving complaints on Highways 29 and 45, a vehicle reportedly traveling on Highway 22 without a hood, and multiple traffic hazards, including a construction barrel in the roadway and even a snapping turtle attempting to cross the highway.
Animal-related calls also kept deputies busy. Officers responded to reports of a calf standing in the roadway near Pulaski, an injured young eagle near the Shawano Airport, loose horses outside Marion, three dogs reportedly chasing a child near Shawano, and a dog bite complaint.
Other incidents included fraud, a prostitution complaint, bail jumping, warrant arrests, and assistance provided to other law enforcement agencies. Deputies also handled several transports, courthouse security assignments, and routine patrols throughout the county.
