SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to launch a new workshop series designed to help local businesses and nonprofit organizations strengthen their leadership, governance, and long-term sustainability.
Chamber President Suzanne Whitman says the four-session series will focus on board development, leadership training, governance practices, and nonprofit management. The goal is to provide local organizations with tools and strategies to navigate challenges facing many community groups today.
Whitman says nonprofits and small businesses throughout the region are dealing with issues such as staffing shortages, leadership transitions, volunteer recruitment, and organizational growth. She believes the workshops will provide valuable guidance for board members, executive directors, managers, and community leaders.
“We’re going to host four sessions, so it is a series,” Whitman said. “August 11th, August 25th, September 15th, and September 29th at the chamber from 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning.”
Whitman says developing effective leadership and strong organizational foundations is critical as many local nonprofits and businesses work to adapt to changing workforce and community needs.
Additional information about registration and participation is expected to be available through the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce.
