NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Defending Division 4 state champion Winneconne enters the 2026 season with plenty of expectations after being ranked ninth in Bound Wisconsin’s Division 3 preseason football poll.
The Wolves captured the state title last fall with a dramatic 28-22 victory over Little Chute, but will have to replace standout quarterback Brody Schaffer, who accounted for more than 3,000 yards of offense and 43 touchdowns before moving on to the University of Iowa.
Winneconne returns several key pieces, including All-Conference receiver Ryan Quigley, leading returning rusher Mason Mathe, and offensive lineman Baylor VanBommel. Junior Broderick Stille is expected to step into a larger role as the Wolves look to reload offensively.
