NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Coleman headlines a strong group of area teams receiving recognition in the 2026 Bound Wisconsin Division 7 preseason football rankings.
The Cougars enter the season ranked No. 2 in the state after an impressive 2025 campaign that saw them advance to a sectional final before falling to eventual state champion Kenosha St. Joseph. Bound Wisconsin notes that veteran head coach Jeff Bronson returns eight starters on offense and seven on defense, including standout running backs Kolton Peters and Wyatt Bieber, who combined for more than 2,200 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns last season.
While Coleman earned a spot near the top of the rankings, Crivitz and Shiocton were both listed among the publication’s Others to Watch entering the season.
Crivitz will look to build on its recent success and prove it belongs among the state’s top Division 7 programs. The Wolverines have consistently been a playoff contender and will aim to turn preseason recognition into a ranking as the season progresses.
Shiocton also received statewide attention after earning a spot on the watch list. The Chiefs will look to make noise in the small-school ranks this fall and could work their way into the Top 15 with a strong start to the season.
The rankings are led by Cochrane-Fountain City, last year’s Division 7 state runner-up, while Coleman checks in as the highest-ranked team from Northeast Wisconsin. With the Cougars beginning the year ranked second and both Crivitz and Shiocton receiving recognition, the region once again appears poised to be well represented in Division 7 football this fall.
