Shawano Police handled a busy Tuesday with a mix of disturbances, 911 calls, and traffic issues across the city.
Officers were called to the AmeriVu Inn just after 1 a.m., where a man was reported running through hallways and knocking on doors while intoxicated. Later, a noise complaint on South Water Street involved a resident upset about a neighbor allegedly banging on garbage cans, though the neighbor denied it.
Multiple 911 hang‑ups came from the Aspen Court area throughout the morning, including one caller reporting harassment over a missing phone. In another incident, a parent reported that a man grabbed a child’s phone while kids waited for the summer school bus.
Police also checked on a suspicious van with expired plates at the Wisconsin House, and later responded to a hit‑and‑run on East Green Bay Street where a red Ford Escape was struck by a large truck that fled the scene.
In the evening, officers conducted a welfare check on Sunset Avenue after family members were unable to reach a woman for a week. They also responded to reports of harassment, illegal burning, and a possible drug complaint at Shawano Square Apartments.
Traffic stops were steady throughout the day, with warnings and citations issued for speeding, equipment violations, and operating after suspension.

Officers conducted a series of early‑morning business checks across South Main, Green Tree Road, County Highway I, and several residential areas. Around 2:30 a.m., police investigated an open door on East 12th Street, but no issues were reported.
Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to an alarm on Industrial Avenue. Later that morning, radar enforcement was carried out near 7th and Lyons, followed by multiple traffic stops across the city.
An ambulance call was handled on Industrial Avenue shortly after 10 a.m., and officers addressed an ordinance violation on North Main Street.
Throughout the afternoon, police assisted a citizen on South Main and responded to a 911 call in the same area.
The evening brought a theft report on South Main, a welfare check near North Main and East 14th, and a suspicious vehicle on West 13th Street. Officers also provided extra patrol around Memorial Circle and wrapped up the night responding to an alarm on North Main Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a wide range of calls Tuesday, beginning just after midnight with a suspicious vehicle on Hayman Falls Lane, where deputies noted the car appeared to have struck a rock.
Around 4:30 a.m., a man turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on an outstanding warrant. A short time later, deputies responded to Old 47 Road for two loose cows blocking traffic.
A welfare check in Tigerton was handled just after 7 a.m., followed by a disabled vehicle on Highway 29 near County MMM. Deputies also assisted with a civil standby on Loon Lake Circle and provided parade‑route planning for an upcoming July 4th event.
Several 911 hang‑ups were logged throughout the morning, including calls from Mattoon and Bonduel. Deputies also responded to a disturbance near County Q and Highway 29, and multiple reckless‑driving complaints—one on Highway 52 near Marathon and another on Highway 32 in Oconto County.
Late morning brought a reported attempted theft at a property on Highway 47‑55. Courthouse security details continued through the afternoon.
Deputies handled two operating‑after‑revocation cases, a dead deer in the roadway on Maple Road, and a medical alert welfare check with no contact.
Just after 4 p.m., a reckless driver on Highway 29 near Leopolis was reported swerving and striking construction cones. Another reckless‑driving complaint came in around 5 p.m. on Lake Drive in Shawano involving a light‑blue Toyota Sienna.
Deputies also checked on an abandoned black Dodge Charger on Highway 47‑55, served another warrant near Highway 22, and took an information report in Bonduel.
The evening included a trespassing complaint, a harassment report involving unwanted text messages, and a scam call from a Clintonville resident.
Stockbridge‑Munsee Police also logged a 911 hang‑up from Highview Road around 7 p.m.
