NEW LONDON, WI – Motorists traveling near New London will encounter another traffic change next week as construction continues on the US Highway 45 improvement project.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that the intersection of US 45 and South County D will be completely closed beginning at 6 a.m. on June 11. The closure is expected to remain in place through June 21, although the schedule could change depending on weather conditions and construction progress.
The intersection closure is part of the ongoing highway reconstruction project in the area. While US 45 is already closed to through traffic, the South County D intersection has remained open to local traffic until now.
Transportation officials said no official detour route will be posted during the closure. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes while work is underway.
The intersection is scheduled to reopen by June 21 as crews continue making improvements along the US 45 corridor near New London.
