SHAWANO, WI – Summer evenings in downtown Shawano are once again coming alive with the return of Thursdayz at Franklin, a weekly concert series that brings live music and community gatherings to Franklin Park throughout the summer.
The free event features a variety of musical acts each week, giving attendees a different experience every time they visit. According to Shawano Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Programming and Events Coordinator Maddie Stuewer, providing a diverse lineup has been a major goal of the program.
“One of the big goals with the Thursdayz program is to bring that kind of variety of bands so you’re hearing different things from year to year while still bringing back some favorites,” Stuewer said.
The 2026 lineup includes a mix of country, classic rock, tribute acts, and other popular genres, offering something for music fans of all ages. Organizers hope the variety helps attract both longtime attendees and first-time visitors throughout the summer.
The entertainment doesn’t end when the final song is played at Franklin Park. Downtown visitors are encouraged to continue the evening at the popular After Party held in The Naberhood near Stubborn Brothers Brewery.
Stuewer says the After Party has become a favorite extension of Thursdayz at Franklin, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to continue enjoying the downtown atmosphere.
“It’s a fantastic way to keep the party going after Thursdays. I love swinging by there,” Stuewer said.
The After Party features live music, food, beverages, and a relaxed gathering space for those looking to extend their evening. The Stubborn Brothers beer garden remains open until 10 p.m., providing an additional destination for concertgoers after the main event concludes.
Thursdayz at Franklin runs throughout the summer in downtown Shawano, offering free live entertainment and family-friendly activities while helping draw residents and visitors to the heart of the community.
