SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies responded to more than twenty calls for service on Wednesday.
Overnight, deputies were dispatched to the Four Seasons Resort on North Airport Drive in Shawano for a disorderly conduct complaint just after 2 a.m.
On the roads, two separate reckless driving complaints came in during the evening hours, one along Highway 29 near County Trunk F in the Pulaski area around 8:30 p.m., and a second on County Trunk MMM near Highway 29 shortly after 11 p.m. In addition, a vehicle-deer collision was reported on Highway 45 near Popple Lane in Birnamwood just before 4 p.m.
A minor property-damage accident occurred around noon on Main Street in the Village of Bonduel, where a bus clipped a parked car.
Animal-related calls kept deputies busy through the afternoon and evening. Stray dogs were reported running across Highway 22 near Warrington Avenue, causing drivers to brake suddenly. An ATV complaint on Lake Drive in Shawano involved a rider allegedly traveling at very high speeds. Deputies also dispatched a deer that had been struck near the Leopolis area.
A traffic stop on Redwood Drive at Highway 55 in the Pulaski area resulted in an OAR, operating after revocation, citation.
Several general assistance and welfare calls rounded out the day’s activity, including a standby in Birnamwood related to a neighbor dispute and a welfare check at a business on the Stockbridge-Munsee reservation, where an employee had locked herself in a bathroom out of fear of a customer.
Deputies also assisted the Shawano County Jail with an inmate matter and supported highway crews managing westbound lane traffic on Highway 29.

The Shawano Police Department handled more than forty calls for service on Wednesday, a busy day that included two drug investigations, a medical emergency, and a surge of juvenile activity after dark.
Early in the morning, officers were called to the Four Seasons Resort on North Airport Drive for a report of a disorderly intoxicated female. The incident resulted in an arrest.
The most significant daytime call came just after nine a.m. at the Walgreens on East Green Bay Street, where officers detained two individuals during a drug investigation. A search reportedly turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A second drug-related call unfolded around four p.m. near South Main and Presbyterian Streets, where officers and Shawano Ambulance responded. That investigation also remains active.
A lighter moment mid-morning: officers and EMS responded to Riverside Drive after a kayaker fell into the river while trying to stand up and was spotted soaking wet, chasing his kayak downstream toward Smalley Park. He was checked on and was okay.
A protective custody order, known as an Emergency Mental Health detention, was initiated at ThedaCare Medical Center around noon and remained active well into the evening.
A theft was reported at Memorial Park on South Lincoln Street around noon. A dog bite was also reported at a residence on East Green Bay Street just after noon; the dog’s vaccinations were confirmed to be current.
A fraud complaint was filed on South Cleveland Street mid-afternoon, and a civil dispute on East Maurer Street involving a neighbor placing cement barriers and damaging a fence was referred for civil resolution.
Officers also assisted a woman at the AmeriVu Inn on Waukechon Street who had been left behind by a friend following a graduation event.
A reckless driving complaint was reported near the Shawano County Courthouse on North Main Street around 6:30 in the evening.
Traffic enforcement was heavy throughout the day, with Officer Atkinson conducting more than a dozen stops along the East Green Bay Street corridor. Violations included speeding, operating without a valid license, equipment issues, and unregistered vehicles.
The evening wrapped up with two juvenile complaints. Shortly after nine p.m., a resident on Ridlington Avenue called after two masked juveniles knocked on his window before fleeing toward Olga Brenner Woods. Around the same time, masked juveniles on bikes were reported on Lafayette Street heading toward Richmond Street. Officers responded to both calls.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Clintonville Police handled seventeen calls for service on Wednesday, a relatively steady day highlighted by a mutual aid response overnight, a pair of disorderly conduct calls, and increased traffic enforcement through the evening hours.
Just after one in the morning, officers assisted another agency with a mutual aid call on East Main Street. About an hour and a half later, officers helped a resident locked out of their vehicle on Rose Park Court.
Wednesday morning brought two welfare checks, one on West Morning Glory Drive just before eight a.m. and a second on Industrial Avenue shortly after. Both were followed by extra patrol activity on West Green Tree Road and South Clinton Avenue.
Two disorderly conduct complaints were logged during the day. The first came in around ten in the morning on West Green Tree Road. The second was reported near North Main Street and 20th Street just after three-thirty in the afternoon.
Officers assisted a business on South Main Street during the late afternoon, and an ambulance call on West Morning Glory Drive was logged just after six p.m.
A welfare check was requested on West 13th Street just before nine in the evening.
Traffic enforcement picked up as the night went on, with stops at the intersection of West Madison and Bennett Streets twice within the nine o’clock hour, and a third stop at East Madison and Auto Street shortly after. Officers also conducted extra patrol at Memorial Circle just before midnight.
