Fox Valley Lutheran 11, Freedom 10
Fox Valley Lutheran walked off Irish Varsity in a wild extra-inning battle Wednesday night, earning an 11-10 win in nine innings. The Foxes built an early lead with a five-run second inning and later tied the game in the seventh before scoring the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Noah Mayer led Fox Valley Lutheran offensively with two doubles and four total bases, while Jack Schlueter, Jackson Thede, and Cooper Kobin also contributed key hits. Freedom answered throughout the night, including a home run from Corey Mathison and a three-run seventh inning to force extra innings. Fox Valley Lutheran finished with 10 hits in the victory while surviving a back-and-forth game that featured 21 combined runs and seven total errors.
Fox Valley Lutheran improved to 13-12 with the win, Freedom dropped to 6-17.
