Shawano Police Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint early Wednesday morning on South Smalley Street after a caller reported a running vehicle parked near a home with blankets covering occupants believed to be intoxicated.
Police were also called to South Franklin Street after a resident discovered clothing, a purse and other items scattered near the home following suspicious activity caught on surveillance video overnight.
A reckless driving complaint on Highway 29 near County Road U drew multiple officers after a caller reported dangerous driving behavior.
Emergency crews responded to Little Blessings Day Care on Olson Street for a 7-month-old child suffering breathing problems connected to RSV.
Police later assisted probation and parole agents with the arrest of a cooperative subject at the Probation and Parole office on East Green Bay Street. Officers responded to Tractor Supply on East Green Bay Street after a reported shoplifting incident involving a man who allegedly fled on foot into a wooded area near the store. And police also investigated a threatening complaint on Fairview Way after a resident reported a neighbor allegedly threatened harm to the caller’s cat if it entered the yard.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls throughout Wednesday, including traffic stops, a warrant arrest and a theft investigation.
Officers began the early morning hours with several business checks around the city, including Industrial Avenue, County Highway I, East Green Tree Road and Commercial Avenue.
Just before 6 o’clock, police and emergency crews responded to an ambulance call on 7th Street. Extra patrols were later conducted on Memorial Circle and 20th Street.
At about 8:30 Wednesday morning, officers arrested a subject on a warrant on South Clinton Avenue. Minutes later, police conducted a traffic stop at North Main and 15th Streets.
Late Wednesday morning, officers investigated a theft complaint on North Main Street, while a lost-and-found report was filed at Ice House Landing.
Police also responded to a harassment complaint on Brix Street during the afternoon hours.
Several additional traffic complaints and stops were reported Wednesday evening, including incidents at Hemlock and 8th Street, Highway 156 and Anne Street, and along Main Street intersections downtown.
Clintonville Police also conducted a welfare check on Anne Street shortly before 10:30 Wednesday night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a busy day of calls Wednesday ranging from reckless driving complaints to crashes, warrants and emergency calls across the county.
Deputies responded to multiple traffic-related incidents throughout the morning on Highway 29, including reports of reckless drivers near County Road U and west of Wittenberg. In one complaint, a caller reported a silver SUV tailgating vehicles, cutting people off and flashing bright lights at motorists. Another traffic hazard involved a deer blocking traffic in the westbound lanes near mile marker 223.
Authorities also handled several disabled vehicle calls, including an overheating vehicle near Highway 29 and River Road in Bonduel and another disabled vehicle later in the day at East Green Bay Street and North Main Street in Shawano.
Deputies made two warrant-related arrests Wednesday, including one at the Shawano County Jail and another near Highway 117 and Pine Road in Cecil.
Emergency calls continued throughout the afternoon and evening. Deputies investigated a two-vehicle property damage crash that temporarily blocked Front Street in Wittenberg, along with a deer-related crash near Highway 117 and Town Line Road in Bonduel.
Other calls included a dog bite report involving a Shawano woman bitten by her own vaccinated dogs, a suspicious complaint involving a boat transaction near Lake Wagner Road, and a welfare check after a caller reported a vehicle traveling with a rear passenger door repeatedly swinging open near Tigerton.
Wednesday evening, deputies received more reckless driving complaints in the county, including reports of a red car crossing lanes and nearly causing a head-on collision near County Road R and Lily Pond Road.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department also responded to several calls, including trespassing, civil disputes and multiple 911 calls in the Gresham and Bowler areas.
