Clintonville Police responded to a variety of calls throughout the day on May 19th, including patrol activity, traffic enforcement, and emergency incidents across the city.
Officers handled extra patrol requests overnight near North 12th and Hemlock and again later on 8th Street and Memorial Circle. Business checks were also conducted on North Main Street during the early morning hours.
Police responded to an alarm on South Main Street shortly after 8:30 Tuesday morning and later assisted with parking enforcement on West Campus Drive.
A disorderly conduct complaint was reported on South Clinton Avenue just before 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. Officers also investigated a property damage complaint on 11th Street later in the day.
Emergency crews were dispatched to a 911 call on Waupaca Street shortly after 5:15 Tuesday evening.
Police also responded to a motor vehicle crash on North Main Street just before 6 p.m. No additional information on injuries or citations was immediately released.
Traffic enforcement remained active throughout the evening, with several traffic stops reported along Main Street at intersections including West 14th, West 3rd, and East 2nd Streets.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 45 incidents across the county on May 19th, including a fatal crash, reckless driving complaints, fire alarms, and multiple emergency calls.
The most serious incident happened just before 5 on Tuesday morning at Highway 29 and Porter Road near Bonduel, where deputies responded to a fatal traffic crash. The investigation remained active throughout the day, and no additional information had been released as of early Wednesday morning.
Deputies also fielded several reckless driving complaints throughout the county. One caller reported a vehicle traveling nearly 80 miles per hour in a construction zone on Highway 29 near County Highway U around 4 a.m. Another complaint involved a vehicle weaving over the roadway near Highway 153 and County Highway M in the Wittenberg area. Later in the evening, deputies arrested a driver near Bowler School after reports of a possibly impaired motorist leaving a baseball field.
Emergency crews responded to several 911 hang-up and open-line calls during the day in Shawano, Gresham, Cecil, Pulaski, Bowler, Krakow, and Gillett.
Animal-related calls also kept deputies busy. Reports included loose cows on a property near Bowler, a horse running loose near Bonduel, and a dog bite case reported through ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano.
