Lucinda “Cindy” M. Hoffmann, age 99 of Shawano, passed away early Sunday morning, May 17, 2026 at Oak Haven Assisted Living, Shawano.
Cindy was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin, on September 24, 1926, the cherished daughter of the late Leonard and Bertha (Gomoll) Mueller. Her lifelong foundation of faith began early; she was baptized on October 10, 1926, and later confirmed on March 17, 1940, at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. Cindy grew up attending St. Martin Parochial School, completing her education through the 8th grade before attending Clintonville High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1944. Following graduation, Cindy entered the workforce, dedicating several years of employment to the F.W.D. Corporation.
On September 20, 1947, Cindy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Raymond Hoffmann, at St. Martin Lutheran Church. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with devotion. The couple later moved to Tigerton, which would become their home for many years. In October of 2017, Cindy moved to the Cottages Assisted Living in Shawano.
Cindy was a friendly and familiar face in the community, working at various retail stores. Her heart, however, truly belonged to her faith and her community. She was a dedicated and long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tigerton, where she joyfully lifted her voice in the church choir for over 40 years. Deeply generous with her time, Cindy also spent many years volunteering at the LCFS Thrift Store in Shawano, always eager to lend a helping hand.
Cindy found great joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She was an avid crafter who loved intricate needlework projects, and she always enjoyed the challenge of a good word search puzzle. Blessed with a green thumb, Cindy took immense pride in tending to her large garden and sharing its fresh produce with those she loved. On quieter afternoons, she could often be found cheering on her beloved Milwaukee Brewers. She enjoyed bus trips with Raymond traveling to all the national parks out West, as well as music venues in Branson and Nashville; and sightseeing in New York City and New Jersey. An excellent homemaker, Cindy blessed her family and friends with her cooking and baking skills; a cheesecake which no one could duplicate; and an immaculately clean and tidy home.
Cindy is survived by her children: James “Jim” (Catherine) Hoffmann; Donald (Caroll) Hoffmann; Karen (Michael) Cotter; & Dan (Sherry) Hoffmann
Grandchildren: Michael (Laura) Cotter, Ryan Cotter, Julie Hoffmann, Matthew (Jennifer) Hoffmann
Great-grandchildren: Brendan Hoffmann & Samantha Cotter
Many nieces, nephews, step-granchildren & step-great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday May 21, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton, with the Rev. Dean Suehring officiating. Interment will take place at Tigerton Union Cemetery following the service.
