
Emelio R. Rodriguez, age 28 of Keshena, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, May 11, 2026, in Shawano. Emelio was born on July 2, 1997, in Milwaukee, the son of Albert Rodriguez and Clarice (Zhuckkahosee) Wilber. He was lovingly raised by Doyle Wilber who taught him many of the things he enjoyed most in life, especially hunting and fishing. Emelio attended the Menominee Tribal School and later graduated from Oneida High School. Following graduation, he worked in the cherry orchards in Door County. He was currently employed as a machine operator at Johnsonville Meats. Emelio enjoyed spending time fishing, playing video games, and occasionally trying his luck at the casino. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, the time he shared with family and friends, and the love he had for those closest to him.
He is survived by his parents, Doyle and Clarice Wilber of Shawano; his father, Albert Rodriguez of Milwaukee; his son, Emelio Rodriguez, Jr.; his special daughter, Xiomara; the mother of his son, Ariana Lepscier, of Keshena; his brothers, Ross Paul LaRoque of Shawano, and his twin brother, Armando (Amber) Rodriguez of Berlin; as well as several aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Matilda and James Zhuckkahosee, Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Robert Wilber, Jr., and Eva Wilber.
Traditional funeral services for Emelio Rodriguez will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Fr. David Barrett Hall at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. John Teller, Sr. will preside. Visitation will begin on Friday, May 15, 2026, after 4:00 pm at the Fr. David Barrett Hall with a traditional prayer service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Menominee Nation Cemetery, Middle Village.
