Shawano Police kept busy Tuesday with a wide range of calls across the city. Officers were called to ThedaCare Medical Center just after 1:30 in the morning for a disorderly patient situation involving what dispatchers described as an unruly patient.
A few hours later, police checked out a suspicious vehicle parked at a Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street after a truck reportedly sat at a gas pump for hours with the engine running before shutting off.
Police also responded to several welfare checks throughout the day, including one at a group home on Olson Street and another at Family Dollar after callers reported a man acting strangely outside the business.
At Dunkin Donuts on East Green Bay Street, officers were asked to trespass two individuals following a disturbance over a drink order in the drive-thru.
Traffic enforcement was also heavy Tuesday evening with multiple stops for speeding, expired registrations, suspended operating privileges and equipment violations across Shawano.
And just after 8:30 Tuesday night, police investigated a reckless driving complaint near McDonald’s after a caller reported nearly being hit by a white car traveling about 60 miles per hour.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls throughout the day on May 12th, ranging from traffic enforcement to public safety concerns.
Officers began the overnight hours with a business check on South Main Street shortly after midnight, followed minutes later by a traffic stop near South Main and 6th Street. Extra patrol activity was reported early Tuesday morning on Anne Street, while officers also responded to a traffic hazard along Highway 156.
Police increased patrols near schools on West Green Tree Road just before 8 a.m. Later in the morning, officers were called to a disorderly complaint and an alarm call, both on South Main Street.
During the afternoon, police handled a traffic-related incident at North Main Street and Highway 156, and later conducted a welfare check on West 14th Street. Another traffic stop was reported near North 12th Street and West Green Tree Road.
In the evening hours, officers responded to a missing person report on Hudson Road, followed shortly after by a suspicious activity complaint on North Main Street.
Clintonville Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity and drive safely as patrols remain active throughout the city.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a busy mix of calls across the county Tuesday, including reckless driving complaints, fraud investigations, welfare checks and several emergency assists.
Deputies were called to a Lake Drive residence near Shawano shortly before 2 a.m. after neighbors reported loud yelling, generators running continuously and a late-night fire. Early in the morning, authorities also took a subject into custody at the Shawano County Jail on a warrant pickup.
Traffic complaints kept deputies busy throughout the day. One reckless driving report came in along Highway 29 near South Highline Road in Bonduel, while another caller later reported a vehicle speeding and swerving through construction traffic near Marathon County. Deputies also investigated a traffic hazard on County Road J south of Fuhrman Road after a deer carcass was reported in a lane of traffic on a curve.
Investigators also handled a fraud complaint in the Town of Waukechon. A Shawano resident told deputies he received a scam phone call from someone pretending to represent Spectrum Internet and offering promotional services.
Animal-related calls were also reported Tuesday. Deputies investigated a dog bite involving a self-employed contractor working in the Gresham area and later responded to a report of neglected dogs locked inside an apartment in Bowler after one reportedly broke a window trying to escape.
In Stockbridge-Munsee tribal police activity, officers are investigating repeated vandalism incidents in Gresham where homes, a meat market and the Red River Tavern were reportedly egged over the weekend and again Monday night.
