Shawano Police were kept busy Monday with a mix of noise complaints, welfare checks, traffic enforcement, and several calls involving public safety concerns.
Officers responded just after 1:20 Monday morning to a reckless driving complaint near South Andrews and East Center Streets. A series of overnight noise complaints also came in from the Sturgeon Park and South Water Street area, where one caller told dispatchers he would continue reporting the disturbances every 15 minutes if necessary. Police later responded to reports of a neighbor allegedly throwing garbage cans into the roadway.
During the afternoon, officers investigated a two-vehicle property damage crash at East Richmond and Waukechon Streets. No injuries or road blockages were reported.
Police also handled multiple school liaison calls at Olga Brener School and Shawano Middle School, assisted probation and parole officers with an arrest warrant, and recovered found property including a wallet and a Visa gift card.
Monday evening included several welfare checks, including a serious incident in which a parent reported receiving suicidal text messages from a son in Shawano. Officers also responded to an abandoned 911 call and reports of a disturbance on South Main Street.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls throughout the day and night, including patrols, traffic enforcement, medical calls, and public assistance incidents.
Officers began the day with a business check on South Main Street shortly after midnight. Police later assisted another agency on the Express Way during a mutual aid call around 4:30 in the morning. Extra patrols were also conducted on Anne Street and near schools along West Green Tree Road as students arrived for the day.
Emergency crews responded to several medical incidents Monday, including ambulance calls on Industrial Avenue, North 12th Street, and West Campus Drive.
Police also handled a lockout complaint on East 12th Street, investigated a reported tobacco-related problem on West Green Tree Road, and conducted a welfare check on Industrial Avenue.
In the evening hours, officers responded to a report of a stray animal near North Main Street and Highway 156. Traffic enforcement remained active throughout the day with multiple traffic stops reported on North 12th Street, South Main Street, and near 7th and Auto Streets.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of incidents Monday, including traffic hazards, crashes, welfare checks, animal complaints, and reckless driving reports across the county.
Deputies began the early morning hours responding to a deer creating a traffic hazard near County Highway V and Old 22 Road in the Town of Cecil. Later in the morning, authorities handled multiple disabled vehicle complaints, including a broken-down pickup truck near Highway 55 and Hofa Park Drive and another vehicle issue near Circle Drive and Pioneer Road.
Deputies also responded to a reported traffic hazard on Lawn Road where a caller reported farm equipment and manure trucks blocking part of the roadway near the bottom of a hill.
Several law enforcement and transport-related calls were handled throughout the day, including warrant pickups, inmate transports, and a probation and parole request involving Ernest Wahsquonaikezhik.
At around 3:30 Monday afternoon, deputies investigated a property-damage crash involving a car and tractor at County Highway N and Maplewood Road. No injuries were reported.
Animal-related complaints also kept deputies busy. Authorities received reports involving an unlicensed dog complaint in the Town of Almon and later a reported dog bite case connected to Prevea Clinic in Shawano.
Monday evening included multiple 911 calls, including an abandoned call near Camp 14 Road and a welfare check after a father reported receiving suicidal text messages from his son. Deputies also responded to a deer crash on Lake Drive near Shawano that left a Ford Escape disabled.
The night ended with a noise complaint on Old Keshena Road where a resident reported hearing and feeling a loud explosion that shook the house and raised concerns about possible danger in the area.
