PULASKI, WI – Promote Pulaski has announced that Casimir Pulaski Days will not be held in 2027, marking a pause for one of the village’s most well-known and long-running traditions.
Organizers say the decision comes after a thorough review of this year’s event, pointing to several challenges including reduced funding, fewer volunteers, and limited business participation. The annual celebration honors Casimir Pulaski and has long served as a source of community pride, tourism, and economic activity in Pulaski.
“Casimir Pulaski Days has been such an important tradition for our community, and this decision was definitely not made lightly,” said Tammy Brzeczkowski. “First and foremost, we are incredibly grateful for the businesses, sponsors, donors, volunteers, committee members, and community supporters who have helped make the event successful over the years.”
Brzeczkowski noted that while the 2026 event ran smoothly thanks to dedicated volunteers, sustaining an event of that scale requires consistent financial backing and strong community involvement. She added that the loss of traditional funding sources, including support from the village’s hotel tax commission grant, combined with fewer sponsorships and donations, made it difficult to continue at the same level.
“Casimir Pulaski Days is more than just an event—it’s tourism, community pride, heritage, and economic impact for Pulaski,” Brzeczkowski said. “It truly takes a village to make something like this happen, and we reached a point where we felt it was important to pause, reflect, and reevaluate how to build something sustainable for the future.”
Despite the cancellation, organizers emphasize this is not the end of the event. Promote Pulaski plans to use the time to rebuild support, strengthen its organizational structure, and explore new ideas for long-term sustainability.
“This is not necessarily goodbye forever,” Brzeczkowski said. “We’re taking a break for 2027 to refocus, rebuild, and explore what future community collaboration could look like. We remain proud of Pulaski’s Polish heritage and thankful for everyone who has supported the event throughout the years.”
Community members, businesses, and volunteers are encouraged to get involved as discussions begin on what the future of Casimir Pulaski Days could look like.
