SHAWANO, WI – Sacred Heart Catholic School is celebrating a historic achievement as two of its students advanced farther than ever before in the annual Knights of Columbus “Keep Christ in Christmas” Poster Contest.
Students Hadlynn Kast and Katie Fowler-Doxtator earned first-place honors at every level of competition, local, district, Diocese of Green Bay, and state, before advancing to the national and international stage. Their success marks an unprecedented milestone for Sacred Heart, highlighting both students’ creativity and dedication.
At the local level, Hadlynn, a kindergarten student, and Katie, competing in the grades 1–2 division, each received first-place certificates and trophies to move on. They continued their winning streak at the district level, earning additional recognition and advancing to diocesan competition, where they once again took top honors and qualified for the state round.
Both students secured first place at the state level, earning certificates and monetary awards, before advancing to the highest level of the contest. At the national and international stage, Hadlynn achieved First Runner-Up, earning a $100 award and bringing national recognition back to the Shawano school community.
School officials say the students’ artwork reflected creativity, faith, and the spirit of Christmas, resonating with judges at every level. Sacred Heart also recognized Spencer Springborn for her participation and artistic contributions to the contest.
The school extended its appreciation to Knights of Columbus Council 2836 and local supporters, including Father Edward Looney, John Hoffman, and State Program Chairman Paul Mastalir, for their continued support of the program and its young artists.
