Shawano Police were busy responding to a wide range of calls across the city. Officers were called to a welfare check at the Walmart on East Green Bay Street after a report of a man threatening to take his own life in the parking lot. Authorities responded and remained on scene for nearly two hours.
Police also handled a theft complaint on South Main Street, where a bicycle was reported stolen after the lock had been cut. Another theft was reported at Walmart involving a stolen handicap placard.
Throughout the day, officers repeatedly responded to noise complaints at Sturgeon Park, with multiple calls coming from the same individual.
Other incidents included a reckless driving report near Shawano Mini Mart, a disturbance on South Union Street, and several calls involving intoxicated individuals.
Police also assisted with stray animals, vehicle lockouts, and a crash involving a vehicle that struck a sign along East Green Bay Street.
Clintonville Police handled a steady flow of calls throughout the day on May first. Overnight hours were busy with multiple business checks across the city, along with an extra patrol at Pigeon Lake Wayside. Officers also conducted several traffic stops, including at Main Street and Camelia Avenue.
Later in the morning, police served a warrant on Brent Street and assisted residents on McKinley and North Clinton Avenue. There was also an ambulance call on Robert Street.
Authorities responded to a series of disorderly conduct complaints, including two incidents on West Green Tree Road and another on Seventh Street.
In the afternoon, crews were dispatched to a fire alarm on South Main Street, and officers later handled a domestic disturbance on Brix Street.
Evening activity included additional traffic stops and a tavern check along South Main Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of incidents across the county including an OWI arrest, multiple traffic complaints, and several public safety calls.
Just before 1 a.m., deputies arrested a driver for operating while intoxicated near County Road S and Safian Road.
Earlier in the morning, deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in a field in the Town of Caroline, while a property damage crash at the Shawano Specialty Paper Mill left behind debris and damage to a fence.
Animal complaints were also reported in the Bowler area, where loose cattle were again found wandering from a neighboring property—an issue deputies say has been ongoing.
Throughout the day, law enforcement handled multiple reckless driving calls, including incidents along Highway 29, County Road E, and Highway 47-55. Several of those complaints were not confirmed.
Deputies also responded to reports of fraud involving a debit card, harassment between neighbors, and a welfare check involving a special needs child, which was ultimately cleared.
Traffic hazards were a recurring issue, with reports of construction barrels blocking lanes on Highway 29 and a separate concern involving a downed utility line near Gresham.
In the evening, deputies assisted with a possible gas leak at a residence, made additional warrant-related arrests involving other agencies, and responded to a personal injury crash near Highway 47-55 and Strauss Court late in the night.
