#14 Bonduel 3, Iola-Scandinavia 1
Bonduel leaned on a dominant performance on the mound and just enough offense to secure a 3-1 win over Iola-Scandinavia, continuing their strong stretch and improving their edge in the early-season series.
The Thunderbirds struggled to get anything going offensively, finishing without a recorded hit and managing just a single run. Bonduel’s pitching staff completely controlled the game from start to finish, keeping Iola-Scandinavia off balance and preventing any sustained rallies.
Brooks Hartlaben set the tone, striking out six over five innings while allowing minimal damage. Beckett Hartlaben came in to shut the door, tossing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to preserve the win. As a staff, Bonduel racked up 10 strikeouts and allowed just one run.
Offensively, the Bears didn’t overwhelm, but they were efficient. Sawyer Rank delivered the biggest swing with two RBIs, while Jackson Reyment added a hit and used his speed on the bases. Bonduel also applied pressure with aggressive baserunning, swiping five bases to help manufacture runs.

Niagara 7, Gillett/Suring 2
Gillett/Suring couldn’t recover from an early deficit Thursday, falling 7-2 to Niagara in a varsity matchup.
Niagara came out aggressive, plating three runs in the opening inning and adding three more in the fourth to build a commanding 6-0 lead. That early surge put Gillett/Suring on its heels and forced them to play from behind most of the game.
Gillett/Suring showed some fight in the fifth inning, breaking through for their only runs of the day. The Tigers pushed two across to cut into the deficit, but the momentum was short-lived as Niagara answered with another run and shut things down the rest of the way.
Offensively, Gillett/Suring struggled to generate consistent opportunities, managing just four hits against a strong Niagara pitching performance. Niagara’s Reid Schroeder controlled the game on the mound, going the distance while allowing only two runs and striking out six.

Crivitz 10, Saint Thomas Aquinas 0
Crivitz wasted no time taking control and never looked back in a dominant 10-0 shutout victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas on Thursday.
The Wolverines set the tone early, scoring in the first inning and adding two more in the second to jump out to a quick 3-0 lead. From there, Crivitz continued to apply pressure, breaking things open with a three-run fourth inning before putting the game out of reach with four more runs in the fifth.
Crivitz’s offense was efficient and aggressive, finishing with eight hits while drawing nine walks and capitalizing on multiple scoring opportunities. Pierce Polomis led the way with a huge day at the plate, driving in five runs, while Colten Tarmann added two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI to pace the lineup.
On the mound, Colton Arpke was in complete control. The sophomore tossed four shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven. Crivitz pitching as a whole held Saint Thomas Aquinas to minimal contact, limiting them to just one hit across the game.
