Police in Clintonville responded to a variety of calls throughout the day on April 30th.
The morning began with a traffic stop at Main and Camelia, followed shortly by a theft reported on Wilson Street. Officers conducted extra patrols in residential areas, including Anne Street, and assisted a citizen on West Campus Drive.
A welfare check was carried out on Morning Glory Drive, and school resource officers were active during the day, giving presentations on Green Tree Road.
Late morning and early afternoon saw additional theft complaints on South Main Street, along with a fire call on Flora Circle. Authorities have not released further details on that incident.
In the evening hours, officers investigated a hit-and-run at First and Main, along with a harassment complaint on 16th Street and an ordinance violation on Main Street. Another theft was reported later in the evening, continuing a trend of property-related calls.
Police also responded to a stray animal complaint on Morning Glory Drive and wrapped up the night with a business check on Commercial Avenue.
Authorities in Shawano County responded to a busy day of calls on April 30th, logging 32 incidents ranging from criminal complaints to traffic hazards and welfare checks.
The day began with a man turning himself in on a warrant in Shawano just after 6:30 in the morning. Deputies also handled multiple traffic-related offenses, including several cases of operating after revocation, as well as a report of reckless driving along Highways 47 and 55 where a vehicle was seen swerving across lanes.
Several incidents raised safety concerns, including a disturbance involving a juvenile reportedly becoming aggressive toward a parent, and a suspicious situation in Cecil where a homeowner reported a person attempting to break into a lockbox with a crowbar—an incident captured on video.
Scam and fraud complaints were also reported, including a troubling case in Wittenberg where a caller believed their girlfriend had been kidnapped after receiving alarming messages and demands for money over social media. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
Deputies conducted multiple welfare checks throughout the day, including one involving concerning messages suggesting possible self-harm, and another where neighbors reported not seeing activity at a residence for an extended period.
Traffic incidents included a crash in a parking lot in Bonduel and a deer-related accident that left a vehicle disabled and debris on the roadway. A separate traffic hazard was reported when a loose dog was seen running along Highway 29.
Other calls ranged from shoplifting in Wittenberg, where suspects fled the scene, to a report of two individuals found passed out in a vehicle in Tigerton.
The sheriff’s office also assisted with fire and medical calls, including responding to alarms and ambulance requests.
