Seymour 10, Chilton 0
Seymour rolled to a shutout win over Chilton in non-conference softball action Friday, scoring early and often in a 10-0 victory. Seymour built a 3-0 lead through three innings before breaking the game open with a four-run fourth and a three-run fifth to trigger the mercy-rule win. Offensively, Seymour was led by Adde Smith, who went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Alexis Corn added a hit, an RBI, and a double, while Lyla Schueler also drove in a run with a homer. Kendra Rettler contributed two hits at the top of the order, and Ariana Brady and Jada Luben each reached base and scored multiple runs. Monique Martinez added three RBIs for Seymour, helping fuel a balanced 10-hit attack. In the circle, Rettler dominated, allowing just one hit over five shutout innings while striking out 10 and walking none.

Iola-Scandinavia 13, Wabeno/Laona 3
The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds earned a convincing 13-3 home win over Wabeno/Laona on Friday in non-conference play. After falling behind 3-0 through three innings, the Thunderbirds exploded offensively, scoring 4 runs in the second, 6 in the fourth, and adding insurance runs late to take control of the game. Iola-Scandinavia finished with 8 hits but capitalized on 9 walks and aggressive baserunning to build momentum throughout the middle innings. Several players contributed in a balanced offensive attack, including multiple RBI efforts from the middle of the lineup. In the circle, Rayanne Clendenning went the distance for Iola-Scandinavia, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs while striking out 6 over 6 innings to earn the win. Wabeno/Laona jumped out early behind a 3-run start and finished with 8 hits, but was unable to slow down Iola-Scandinavia’s big innings.

The Wrightstown Tigers defeated the Brillion Lions 7-4 on Friday in a non-conference softball matchup. Wrightstown got off to a fast start, scoring 2 runs in the first inning, 3 in the second, and 2 more in the third to build a 7-4 lead. Brillion answered early with a strong 4-run first inning, but was held scoreless the rest of the way as Wrightstown’s defense and pitching settled in. Wrightstown finished with 8 hits in the game and took advantage of timely offense throughout the first three innings. On the mound, Ashlyn Cavanaugh went the distance, allowing 3 hits and 4 runs while striking out 1 and issuing 5 walks to earn the win.
