Wittenberg Woman Killed in Highway 45 Head-On Crash

ANTIGO, WI- A fatal crash that shut down Highway 45 south of Antigo for about five hours is under investigation by the Langlade County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the crash, reported Thursday night near County Highway X, appeared to be a head-on collision between two vehicles. A 45-year-old woman from Wittenberg, identified as Gina Marie Brunner, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 25-year-old Antigo man was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Investigators say preliminary evidence suggests alcohol may have been a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.
