SHAWANO POLICE ACTIVITY
Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls Thursday, including welfare checks, disturbances, a death investigation, and several emergency calls.
Officers began the overnight hours conducting building checks at local businesses including Off The Rails Pub and Ole Town Tap. Shortly after, officers responded to a 911 call at Off The Rails Pub after a caller had difficulty communicating their location.
Early morning also brought a noise complaint near Sturgeon Park when a caller reported loud activity before disconnecting.
During the school day, officers responded to a juvenile situation at Olga Brener School after a student left the building. Officers assisted staff in safely returning the student inside. Police also completed school liaison duties at Shawano Middle School and handled multiple welfare checks connected to area schools.
Late morning included several investigative and assistance calls, including a civil matter on Division Street and an information report involving a suspect. Officers also assisted another law enforcement agency with a retail theft investigation.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., officers responded to a death investigation on West Stevens Street. Multiple officers and emergency personnel were on scene for over an hour.
Police also handled a minor crash in the ThedaCare parking lot after a vehicle was backed into while the driver was inside for an appointment. A separate 911 call from the medical center was later determined to be an accidental dial.
Throughout the afternoon, officers assisted other agencies, responded to welfare checks, and handled a disturbance at Walmart that resulted in officers attempting to take a suspect into custody.
Additional calls included an ambulance assist on Richmond Street and an animal complaint involving barking dogs and storm damage hazards.
During the evening hours, officers responded to reckless driving reported near County Road E and Oakcrest Drive in the Bonduel area, suspicious activity on Engel Drive, and multiple animal-related incidents including dogs fighting and a dog bite involving pets.
Police also investigated a harassment complaint and responded to two disturbance calls, including one involving yelling and items being thrown inside an apartment on Richmond Street.
The night concluded with officers responding to a parks violation on Oak Drive after reports of juveniles creating a disturbance.
SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S ACTIVITY
Shawano County deputies responded to a wide range of calls Thursday across the county, including traffic incidents, welfare checks, animal complaints, suspicious activity, and multiple emergency calls.
The day began just after 7:30 a.m. with a general assist call on Sunset Drive in Gresham, followed shortly by a welfare check at a convenience store along Highway 45 in Wittenberg. Deputies then handled several animal-related complaints throughout the morning, including loose dogs in the Pulaski area and a deer that needed to be dispatched near Highway 156.
Routine courthouse security and inmate transport duties were also handled in Shawano during the morning hours.
Late morning brought traffic and public safety calls, including a property-damage crash on Hofa Park Drive in the Pulaski area and a reckless driving report along Highway 29 near Cedar Road. Deputies also responded to a residential alarm on Raguse Road when keyholders could not initially be reached.
During the afternoon, deputies assisted other law enforcement agencies and conducted additional courthouse security operations. Several reckless driving complaints were reported throughout the county, including incidents near Highway 29, Highway 45 and 52 in the Aniwa area, and County roads in the Bonduel and Shawano areas.
Deputies also responded to a suspicious activity complaint on Belle Plaine Avenue, where a homeowner reported someone in a basement attempting to wash out a foundation with a hose.
Multiple welfare checks were conducted throughout the afternoon and evening, including calls involving individuals experiencing mental health or personal crises. Deputies continued to monitor the situations and provide assistance where needed.
In the evening hours, deputies handled a 911 call in the Shawano area, a utility problem near Hilltop and Zachow Roads, and another late-night 911 call on Beetle Creek Road.
The day wrapped up with an animal complaint involving a steer reported along Highway 156 near Shiocton.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE ACTIVITY
Clintonville Police handled overnight patrols, school safety, traffic enforcement, and several evening incidents across the city Thursday.
Officers began the early morning hours with business checks on North Main Street, South Main Street, and West Street, along with extra patrol in the Memorial Circle area. These routine patrols are part of ongoing efforts to deter overnight crime and maintain a visible police presence.
Morning patrols resumed at 6 a.m. with extra patrol assignments on Anne Street and Walnut Street, followed by school extra patrol on West Green Tree Road to help ensure safe arrival for students and staff.
Late morning activity included a citizen assist call on West Morning Glory Drive, where officers provided assistance to a resident. Officers also conducted extra patrol at Picnic Point and the Pigeon Lake Boat Launch at Pickerel Point, monitoring recreational areas as seasonal activity increases.
Evening hours brought several enforcement and incident calls. Officers conducted traffic stops at South Main Street and Camelia Avenue and again at North Main Street and East 14th Street as part of ongoing traffic safety efforts.
Police later responded to a disorderly conduct complaint on 7th Street, followed by an animal problem reported near Waupaca Street and South Clinton Avenue.
The day concluded with officers making an arrest on a warrant on South Clinton Avenue, safely taking the individual into custody.
