Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls Wednesday involving schools, traffic, domestic situations, and public safety concerns across the city.
The day began with school-related activity at Olga Brener School, where officers responded to a child abuse or neglect complaint while conducting school liaison duties. Officers also handled a welfare check and a reported sex offense during the morning hours.
Police followed up on an animal neglect complaint connected to an ongoing dog-related issue involving a Gresham residence. The complainant reported the suspect had failed to comply with previous orders to remove the dogs from the property.
At Shawano Community High School, officers responded to a truancy report, continuing regular cooperation between schools and law enforcement.
Early afternoon activity included officers taking a subject into custody on a warrant near East 5th Street and Fairview Way, with assistance from multiple officers and a K-9 unit.
Police also investigated a junk or inoperable vehicle complaint on East Randall Street and filed an information report on Lieg Avenue.
Traffic enforcement continued with an OAR/OWS/OWL investigation at Main Street and Alpine Drive.
A domestic disturbance was reported near South Franklin and Oshkosh Streets, where officers responded to reports of a couple yelling and a physical altercation before entering a residence.

Emergency responders were dispatched to a pedestrian crash at Oak Drive and South Weed Street, where police and EMS responded to the scene.
