PULASKI, WI- Pulaski is proposing a major increase to water rates to help fund a new pipeline project.
Village officials have filed a request for a 140 percent rate hike, the largest in recent years, to finance a more than $15 million pipeline connecting to Hobart. If approved, the average quarterly residential bill could rise from about $151 to more than $360, depending on usage. Leaders say the project would provide cleaner water from Lake Michigan, reducing issues tied to iron and manganese in the current supply. The proposal still requires approval from the Public Service Commission, with additional rate changes possible as the project moves forward.
