FRIDAY SOFTBALL
Seymour 6, Appleton North 0
Seymour delivered a complete performance on Friday, shutting out Appleton North 6-0 in a non-conference matchup at home.
The Thunder wasted little time getting on the board, plating two runs in the first inning to set the tone early. Seymour added two more in the third, followed by single runs in the fourth and fifth to steadily build its lead. In total, the Thunder racked up nine hits while playing clean defensively with no errors.
Kendra Rettler led the way both at the plate and in the circle. She went 2-for-2 with a home run, drove in a run, and reached base twice via walks. In the pitching circle, Rettler was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just six hits and striking out 12.
Monique Martinez also had a big day offensively, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI, while Adde Smith added a homer and drove in two runs. Aryah Krahn contributed another long ball as Seymour powered its offense with four home runs in the win.
Defensively, the Thunder were sharp throughout, backing Rettler’s strong outing by going error-free in the field.
