FRIDAY BASEBALL
Wrightstown 14, Clintonville 1
Wrightstown put together a dominant all-around performance Friday afternoon, rolling to a 14-1 win over Clintonville at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Tigers came out swinging early, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second to quickly take control. After a quiet third, Wrightstown tacked on another pair in the fourth before breaking the game open with an eight-run sixth inning to put it out of reach.
Senior Bennett Stengel led the offensive surge, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs, and three runs scored. He was a constant presence on the basepaths and helped spark Wrightstown’s big innings at the plate. As a team, the Tigers collected 13 hits, including five doubles, and drew six walks while consistently applying pressure.
On the mound, Wrightstown was just as effective. The pitching staff combined for six innings, allowing just one unearned run while striking out nine. Jacob Miller was sharp in his outing, tossing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
Clintonville managed to push across its lone run in the sixth inning but was unable to generate sustained offense against Wrightstown’s pitching.
