Road Closures
UPDATED: WIS 54 OUTAGAMIE AND WAUPACA COUNTIES: WIS 54 is currently closed in both directions from Northport (Waupaca County) to Black Creek (Outagamie County) due to flooding. The closure now extends through the New London area after Waupaca County closed the highway at County D on the north side of New London. Because of this, the previous detour through Outagamie County (using County M to S to 47) is no longer available.
- Regional Detour: Motorists on WIS 54 coming from the east/west are advised to use US 10 to I-41 to WIS 47 as a regional detour route to avoid the area completely.
- If the destination is somewhere in between Waupaca and Black Creek, motorist can continue on and use the localized detour shown on map below.
- Local Detour: Motorists are advised to use the following local detour:
- Eastbound traffic on WIS 54 will exit at WIS 110/22. North on WIS 110/22 to WIS 22. East on WIS 22 to US 45. North on US 45 to WIS 22. North on WIS 22 to WIS 156. East on WIS 156 to WIS 47. South on WIS 47 back to WIS 54.
- Westbound traffic will reverse these directions.
- Eastbound traffic on WIS 54 will exit at WIS 110/22. North on WIS 110/22 to WIS 22. East on WIS 22 to US 45. North on US 45 to WIS 22. North on WIS 22 to WIS 156. East on WIS 156 to WIS 47. South on WIS 47 back to WIS 54.
- Please note that US 45 north and south of New London remains closed due to a separate construction project.
- River levels are still cresting, with additional rain forecast through the weekend, so the timeline for reopening WIS 54 is currently unknown.
- Outagamie County has created a map to assist local resident travel. The map is embedded at the end of this news release.
WIS 54 OUTAGAMIE COUNTY: WIS 54 is closed in both directions from Near North Maple Street/WIS 47 in Black Creek to Hooyman Road/County M west of Shiocton due to flooding on roadway.
- Alternate route for southbound: Take WIS 47 to County S to County M. Reverse for northbound.
WIS 76 OUTAGAMIE COUNTY: WIS 76 is closed in both direction from East Avenue in Shiocton to Oak Crest Drive in Stephensville due to flooding on roadway.
- No detour is available with all other county roadways flooded in this area as well. Planned to be closed indefinitely

- Alternate route for southbound: WIS 156 to WIS 47 to WIS 54. Reverse for northbound.
DRIVER SAFETY INFORMATION
- Please make sure you have the flooding tab clicked on the 511 map to view all locations of flooding.
- Never attempt to cross a water-covered road. Just 12 inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road.
- Do not ignore barricades or road closure signs.
- Flash flooding can occur suddenly anywhere in the area.
- Always check current road conditions before traveling:

- Motorists should plan extra time for travel, use designated alternate routes, and exercise extreme caution in low-lying areas. Conditions may change rapidly.
NEW LONDON
WIS 54 is closed in both directions between Madden Road and Jeanne Street in the New London area because of water over the roadway.
Detour:
- Eastbound: Exit at WIS 110/22 → north to CTH BB → east to CTH B → north to WIS 22 → east to US 45 → north to WIS 22 → north to WIS 156 → east to WIS 47 → south back to WIS 54
- Westbound: Use the same route in reverse.
SHAWANO
The following parks/trails are closed
MANAWA
All lanes of WIS 110 near Manawa are currently closed in both directions due to flooding.
The closure, which began around 11:20 a.m. on April 15, is impacting traffic from Cemetery Road to County Highway B, with water reported over the roadway.
Officials say the closure is expected to last more than two hours as conditions are assessed and addressed.
Drivers traveling northbound are being directed to exit at County Highway B and take it east back to WIS 110.
