Police Activity Reported For April 15
SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies handled a busy 24 hours Wednesday, responding to crashes, domestic incidents, welfare checks, and numerous emergency calls across the county.
The day began shortly after midnight with a non-reportable crash at County Highways BE and E, followed minutes later by a reckless driving complaint along Highway 47-55 near Strauss Road. Deputies also investigated suspicious activity at a Bowler residence and took a person into custody on a warrant.
Around 2 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call on Raguse Road. Later in the early morning hours, deputies were called to a domestic disturbance on County Highway U in the Town of Herman.
The morning commute brought several crashes and roadway concerns, including a hit-and-run at Highway 47 and Landstad Road in the Bonduel area and reports of pedestrians walking along Highway 29 near County Highway MMM. Deputies also conducted welfare checks in multiple communities, including Pulaski and Birnamwood, and assisted emergency medical crews in Cecil after a report of an unresponsive person in a garage.
Midday activity included a bail-jumping investigation, prisoner transport, eviction assistance, and civil disputes. Deputies also responded to another hit-and-run crash at Cecil Street and Green Bay Street in Bonduel and a second crash at Hillcrest Drive and County Highway E.
Several 911 calls came in throughout the afternoon, including one from the Cecil area in which a caller stated, “I’m going to die.” Deputies also conducted multiple welfare checks involving missing or potentially suicidal individuals.
Late afternoon brought an informational update that several low-hazard dams in the county had overtopped due to recent rainfall. Officials reported no danger to people or property, and no action was required.
Evening hours remained busy with suspicious activity reports, a disabled vehicle near Highways 160 and 55 in Pulaski, reckless driving complaints along Highway 29 and Highway 22, and a drug-related incident reported near the Ho-Chunk Casino. Deputies also responded to a crash at County Highway HH and Lulu Lake Drive late Wednesday night.
In total, the Sheriff’s Office handled 38 incidents during the 24-hour reporting period.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls Wednesday, with officers responding to traffic hazards, storm damage, a fire, and a burglary investigation.
The day began just before 6 a.m. with traffic hazards reported at Highway 156 and County Highway Y, followed by another roadway hazard at North Lyons Street and 7th Street. Officers also conducted extra patrol on Anne Street.
Shortly after, officers responded to storm-related issues across the city and were called to a fire on Depot Street. Extra patrol was also conducted around schools along South Clinton Avenue during the morning hours.
Late morning brought an agency assist request in the City of New London, along with additional storm-related calls near Peeters Road and County Highway I.
During the afternoon, officers began investigating a burglary reported on North 12th Street and checked out suspicious activity on Commercial Avenue. Police also handled parking enforcement on Bennett Street and conducted a welfare check on Harrison Avenue.
In the evening, officers responded to a 911 call on East 14th Street and later assisted another agency in New London.
In total, Clintonville Police handled numerous incidents throughout the day as weather and routine calls kept officers busy across the community.
