Pearl B. Plauster, age 104, of the Town of Pella in Shawano County, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening at ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano.
Pearl Bertha Plauster was born May 20, 1921, in the Town of Seneca, daughter of the late Alex and Julia (Lang) Kroening. On July 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Martin Plauster. Over the years, Pearl lived in Marion and Split Rock, but spent most of her life in the Caroline area, where she built a home centered on family and tradition.
A devoted homemaker, Pearl found her greatest fulfillment in raising her eight children. She was known for her many talents, especially her baking, her homemade bread became a cherished staple among family and friends. Whether in the kitchen or outdoors, Pearl was always busy, tending to her beautiful flower gardens filled with tulips, roses, and gladiolas, or working in her large vegetable garden as she prepared for the canning season.
Pearl also had a lifelong love of collecting, building an extensive collection of hundreds of dolls. Her deep affection for children never faded, and in her later years she found great joy in looking through family photographs and sharing stories of her life and the history of the area.
She is survived by her children: Jerry (Hazel) Plauster, LeRoy (Pamela) Plauster, James Plauster, Carol (Boyce) Michalak, Gloria (Reinhard) Miller, Dan Plauster, Doug Plauster, and Delores Lhotka; grandchildren: Eric Michalak, Jeff Miller, Mark Miller, and Dawn Thompson; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Jayden, Cameron, Hudson, Hayden, Bryce, Ireland, and Brody Miller, Auron Drier, and Tristan Forseth; great-great-grandchildren: Grayson and Colson; along with special nieces and nephews: Lai Lonnie, LaVonne, LaNette, and Craig.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; siblings Alex (Joyce) Kroening, Marvin Kroening, Opal (Melvin) Splittgerber, Faye (Ben) Krause, and Harvey (Linda) Kroening; and granddaughter Connie Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Diana Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
