Multiple Track and Field invites took center stage this weekend with Weyauwega Fremont and Freedom performing well.

Weyauwega-Fremont Boys, Girls Both Finish Strong with Multiple Wins and Top Finishes
Weyauwega-Fremont had a strong showing at the meet with both boys and girls contributing key performances. The boys finished fourth with 63 points, highlighted by Marcus Benjamin winning the 3200 meters, the 4×200 and 4×800 relays taking first, and strong individual efforts in the 60 meters, hurdles, and field events including high jump, shot put, and triple jump. On the girls’ side, the team scored 57.5 points for a fourth-place finish, fueled by Macy Fee taking first in the shot put, the 4×200 relay winning, and top-10 finishes in high jump, long jump, hurdles, and triple jump. Overall, Weyauwega-Fremont demonstrated depth and versatility across sprints, distance, relays, and field events for both squads.

Pulaski Girls Shine with Multiple Top-10 Finishes at Track Meet
Pulaski had several strong individual performances at the meet. Faye Brunke finished second in the 60-meter dash, while Talyn Pratt also scored in the top eight. In the 1600 meters, Maggie Gerth placed sixth, and Cameran Reiss ran a top-10 time in the 3200 meters. On the field, Rebecca Huisman earned a top-10 finish in the high jump, and Lydia Gwidt claimed third in the triple jump. The Pulaski girls also contributed to a seventh-place showing in the 4×200 relay and a ninth-place finish in the 4×400 relay, highlighting solid team efforts across sprint and distance events.

Freedom Girls 1st at Ripon, Winneconne Boys Grab Top Spot
Freedom turned in a dominant performance at Ripon, piling up 146 points to run away with the girls team title by a wide margin over Deerfield. The Irish showed their depth all across the meet, highlighted by event wins from Katherine Cook in the 800, Ashley Hietpas in the 60 hurdles, Gabriella Hambel in the pole vault, Brooke Sowinski in the long jump, and first-place finishes in both the 4×200 and 4×800 relays. Freedom also packed the top 10 in several events, including the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and pole vault, showing just how balanced the lineup was from top to bottom. Athletes like Mara Janssen, Marisa Greiner, Jessa Jochman, and Eleanor Groenjes added key points with multiple high finishes to keep the pressure on the rest of the field.

Pulaski and Iola-Scandinavia had some top finishes on Saturday.
Pulaski and Iola-Scandinavia both turned in strong individual performances at the meet, highlighted by top finishes in distance and hurdle events. Pulaski’s Mitchell Pilon came in second in the 800 meters, while Arden Gillen placed ninth in the 1600. Pulaski also posted a solid third-place finish in the 4×200 relay and was ninth in the 4×400 relay. Iola-Scandinavia had a standout showing as well, with Henry Vater finishing fifth in the 3200 meters and Jensen Rice taking first in the 60m hurdles and tying for ninth in the high jump. Both schools showed depth across multiple events, contributing valuable points to their teams’ overall scores.
