SHAWANO, WI – Students from Sacred Heart Catholic School recently brought their classroom lessons to life during an educational field trip to Madison. Fourth through seventh graders visited the Wisconsin State Capitol and the University of Wisconsin Geology Museum, gaining hands-on experiences tied directly to their studies in social studies and science.
At the State Capitol, students learned how Wisconsin’s state government functions and explored the historic building’s architecture and chambers. The visit offered a real-world look at civic engagement and the responsibilities that come with informed citizenship.
The group also toured the Geology Museum, where they examined fossils, minerals, and geological formations that reveal Earth’s history. Exhibits featuring ancient creatures, glowing rocks, and interactive displays helped students better understand scientific concepts while appreciating the complexity of the natural world.
