NEOPIT, WI – A Neopit wood mill is closed Tuesday after an early morning fire caused significant damage to part of the facility.
Menominee Tribal Enterprises confirmed the blaze destroyed its stacker building and associated equipment. Some lumber inventory was also damaged in the fire.
Officials say all employees are safe and no injuries were reported. Crews responded quickly, and the focus is now on assessing the extent of the damage.
Production operations are shut down for the day as the organization evaluates next steps for recovery and continuity of operations. The Menominee Tribal Enterprises store and main office remain open and are operating during regular business hours.
