Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls throughout the city on Tuesday, including property crimes, disturbances, and multiple 911 calls. Just after midnight, officers were called to the 900 block of South Franklin Street for reported property damage involving slashed tires. The incident remains under investigation. Around 7 a.m., police took a report of an attempted burglary at a business on East Green Bay Street after pry marks were discovered on a door. Officers also responded to a disturbance on South Sawyer Street involving loud yelling and crying. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, officers handled truancy complaints at Shawano Community High School, several abandoned 911 calls, and a vehicle parked in front of a fire hydrant on Presbyterian Street. Additional calls included a harassment complaint on South Main Street, a bail jumping investigation at the police department, suspicious activity at a Northridge Drive business, and an alarm at a North Main Street dental office.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout the day yesterday handling a mix of traffic enforcement and service calls across the city. Officers conducted numerous traffic stops, beginning just after midnight at Highway 45 and Hilltop Road. Additional stops were made at Madison and Bennett Streets, 9th and Main, Flora Way and Morning Glory Drive, and multiple locations along North Main Street throughout the evening. Highway 45 and County Highway C also saw enforcement activity. Police conducted extra patrols on Anne Street and South Madison Street, along with a scheduled school extra patrol on 20th Street. Officers investigated a suspicious complaint on North 12th Street shortly before 7 a.m., responded to a 911 call on West 13th Street mid-morning, and handled a truancy complaint on West Green Tree Road early in the afternoon. Other calls included an animal problem on West Street and a disabled vehicle at Highway 156 and McKinley Avenue.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 incidents across the county yesterday including multiple warrants, crashes, disturbances, and emergency calls. The day began just after 1 a.m. with a warrant arrest near Pioneer Drive and Wipperwill Lane. Additional warrant-related arrests followed at the Shawano County Jail, Langlade County Jail, and in coordination with Portage County authorities. Deputies assisted fire departments twice during the day — once at a home on County Road D in Clintonville and later along Highway 22 in Cecil. Two traffic crashes were reported, including a vehicle-versus-deer accident at County Roads M and D early in the morning, and a vehicle in the ditch along Spur Road near County Highway G during the evening hours. Other calls included a reckless driving complaint near Highway 29 and Campground Road, a civil property dispute in Birnamwood, and a disabled vehicle near Ho-Chunk Park Drive and Highway 29. Deputies also responded to multiple 911 calls, including accidental dials and a welfare check involving a concerning phone statement. Evening activity included a disorderly conduct complaint in Wittenberg, a reported scam in the Town of Marion, suspicious activity in Wittenberg, a traffic stop requiring a K9 assist, and a drug-related call at North Star Casino.
