SHAWANO COUNTY, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced a series of road improvement projects and a bridge replacement scheduled for Shawano County in 2026. The work is part of ongoing efforts to improve roadway conditions and safety across the region.
Pavement rehabilitation projects are planned on portions of Highway 29, Highway 22, Highway 156, U.S. Highway 45, and County Road BE. Most of the projects are expected to take place between April and October, with Highway 156 construction slated for June through August and County Road BE work planned from May to June.
In addition to roadway improvements, the County Road D bridge over the Embarrass River is scheduled to be replaced between May and July. Transportation officials say drivers should plan for construction activity and potential traffic changes in these areas during the upcoming season.
