NEW LONDON, WI – Families in New London are getting ready for one of the community’s most cherished Valentine’s traditions, the annual Daddy Daughter Dance. Morgan Gorges with New London Parks and Recreation says the event welcomes families from across the area for a special night focused on connection and memories.
Each year, fathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers, and other important male role models are invited to bring the special girl in their life to the dance. Gorges says the event is especially meaningful for girls who may not have a strong male figure at home, giving them a chance to share in the experience with another supportive adult.
This year’s theme is Walk the Red Carpet, with dancing and activities planned at the Washington Center Gym from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Organizers say many families make the dance a yearly tradition, creating lasting memories that extend far beyond a single evening.
Gorges adds the event continues to grow and remains one of the most heartwarming ways the community comes together around Valentine’s Day.
