Shawano Police responded to a busy day of calls Monday, handling everything from parking violations to thefts and welfare checks throughout the city.
Officers began the early morning hours addressing several parking complaints on South Main Street, South Andrews Street, and North Lafayette Street, issuing citations for ordinance violations. Later in the morning, police responded to a 9-1-1 call on East Lieg Avenue, followed by a disabled vehicle reported near the McDonald’s on East Green Bay Street.
Police also assisted ambulance crews on multiple medical calls during the morning and early afternoon. A tobacco-related incident was reported at Shawano Community High School, and officers investigated a trespassing complaint on Prairie Street involving unauthorized individuals in a residence.
During the afternoon and evening, officers handled a shoplifting incident at Walmart, several vehicle lockouts, and a civil dispute at an apartment complex. Additional calls included reports of theft, welfare checks involving possible homeless individuals, and multiple trespassing complaints.
Late Monday night, police responded to a hit-and-run on East Lieg Avenue and a harassment complaint on East Randall Street. The activity log carried into early Tuesday with a report of property damage on South Franklin Street, where slashed tires were reported.
Clintonville Police responded to a wide range of calls across the city. Officers conducted extra patrols overnight at Pickerel Point Playground, Picnic Point, and several residential areas including Anne Street, South Madison Street, and Pine Street. Multiple business checks were also completed on West Madison, Summer, and South Main Streets during the early morning hours.
Emergency responders were called twice to North 12th Street for ambulance runs, and a carbon monoxide alarm was reported on Auto Street. Police also provided extra patrol near schools along West Green Tree Road.
During the afternoon, officers handled a disorderly conduct complaint and a traffic hazard on South Main Street. A theft was reported on Folkman Street, and a threatening incident was investigated on East Third Street.
The evening included several traffic stops at locations including West Madison Street, Highway 45, and County Highway C. The day concluded with a suspicious activity report on Hemlock Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 calls for service Monday, ranging from emergency assistance to traffic hazards and criminal investigations across the county.
Deputies began the early morning hours handling several suspicious activity reports and 9-1-1 calls, including one in the Wittenberg area where a resident reported possible damage to their home. Authorities also assisted ambulance crews on multiple medical calls in Bowler, Birnamwood, and Shawano.
As the morning continued, deputies responded to traffic hazards along Highways 47, 55, and 22, including a mattress on the roadway and debris creating unsafe driving conditions. Several animal-related calls were reported as well, including stray dogs and cattle loose near Highway 45 outside Tigerton.
Midday activity included two individuals taken into custody on active warrants, coordinated with the Menominee Tribal Jail. Deputies also investigated a drug-related traffic stop near Highways 29 and 45, as well as a disturbance in the Village of Wittenberg.
During the afternoon and evening, deputies handled reports of trespassing, fraud involving online payment services, welfare checks, and assisted motorists with disabled vehicles and lockouts. Additional traffic hazards were cleared before nightfall.
The day wrapped up with multiple assistance calls and a welfare check in Wittenberg. The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to report suspicious activity and roadway hazards as soon as possible to help keep communities safe.
