WAUPACA COUNTY, WI – The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has released a public notification regarding the upcoming release of a registered sex offender, in accordance with Wisconsin’s community notification laws. Officials say the information is being shared to improve public awareness and safety, and emphasize the individual is not wanted by law enforcement.
Authorities report that Rick L. Strong is scheduled for release on February 17 and will reside in Waupaca County. He must comply with sex offender registration requirements, including GPS monitoring, and will remain on extended supervision through 2036. As part of his supervision conditions, he is prohibited from unsupervised contact with minors.
The sheriff’s office stresses the notification is not intended to create fear, but to keep the public informed. Officials also warn that harassment, threats, or intimidation directed at registered offenders will not be tolerated.
