NEW LONDON, WI – The New London School District has officially begun the search for the next principal of New London High School, with district leaders outlining the hiring timeline and process. Superintendent Scott Bleck told the school board that the position has been posted and that interviews are expected to get underway in early February.
District officials say they plan to gather feedback and move carefully through the process to ensure the right candidate is selected to lead the high school. Administrators will ultimately bring a hiring recommendation to the school board for consideration once interviews and evaluations are complete.
Board members also discussed how involved they would like to be in the interview process, with some expressing interest in having additional board participation beyond the final round. The conversation focused on balancing administrative leadership in the hiring process with meaningful board input.
A hiring decision is expected at a special school board meeting scheduled for Feb. 25. The candidate selected for the role is anticipated to begin serving as principal on July 1, ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
